Extremely dry up here at the moment and as we are working in an area that crosses into 3 different cattle stations the dryness is very evident in the state of the cows. We always have cows near us somewhere up here and usually they're fat as hell at this time of the year. The summer storms come and this whole region explodes into grass and green. No rain this summer, so no grass and the cows are literally skin and bones.
Out surveying a few days ago and I stumbled across this poor thing, There was a bit of rain up here a few months ago so the soaks would have filled up and the cows would have drunk from them, but as the water recedes it gets very muddy and once one leg goes in the struggle has only one outcome....
