THE LONG LAST DAY

Today was our last survey day for the year. Summer is upon us and it's about to become unbearable up here, so we're bailing. The past two weeks have been testing, for all of us. But my crew have done really well and we've all earned a good long break.

The down side is that we finally made it into the big valley we'd all been hanging out for. Sadly with only today left we'll have to wait until next year to really get in there and see what goodies await us. We managed just 2 km's in (only 20 km's to go) today and found a pile of great stuff. So it looks like we're in for some big wins when we get back in February.....or not, as sometimes you find some great stuff at the start and then nothing worth mentioning for the remainder, it's just how it goes. But looking at that landscape in the distance I figure it's gonna be pretty cool.

The coolest thing is that we are probably going to be the first white people to walk through most of what you see below.
