Means outdoor cinema time and I really do need to do more of it before the rains return. Nells dragged me along to see the French film Séraphine. The true story about Séraphine Louis (later to be known as Séraphine de Senlis) who worked as a housekeeper and who just happened to be as talented a painter as Picasso and the like.
Extremely interesting story and an atypical bleak ending as only the French are expert enough to do. No sugary sweet mamby pamby Hollywood endings here. If the subject of the story had his/her foot eaten off by Amazonian ants and they died from toxic poisoning as a result then the French would show just that, Hollywood would have the hero curing themself using only the rain forest plants that were within arms reach.
