THE PHOTOGRAPHY OF MARGARET BOURKE-WHITE

I've been reading up a bit on the life of Margaret Bourke-White (June 14, 1904 – August 27, 1971) and wow, what a life. In a time when women were not exactly given the freedom or access to the places or events of the day, Margaret excelled in turning those tables on their heads. Does that make sense? Probably not, let's just say that Margaret kicked arse and when you see her photos you'll understand what I'm trying to say.

She did architectural photography, commercial (in particular the Otis Steel Company), photojournalism for the likes of Life Magazine, front line WW11 including the horrors of the extermination camps, the Korean War, the Indian/Pakistan Partition and much much more.

You might recognise a few, you might not...
