I had to head south to historic Albany a couple of weeks back for work and to attend a conference. During the research part of the work I came across this postcard from 1907 showing all of the sights of Albany.
I recognised the bottom left photo as the bandstand across the road from where I was gonna be staying so I made plans to reshoot that very same shot, I think I did okay, especially as my cameras lens is a whole lot different to the one used back then by A.N. Musa or Muaa (I can't quite make out the surname).
Not much has changed in good old Albany, the bandstand looks identical 117 years down the track, and all the buildings seen in the original shot look to still be there. I love Albany, I'd retire there if it wasn't so effing cold!
