I cooked for a living for almost 20 years and in all of that time I never ate an oyster. I served probably hundreds of dozens of them, prepared them 20 different ways, but never did one of those phlemy suckers pass my lips.
I finally ate one about 6 weeks ago and I realised I wasn't missing anything. Now I read that Thomas Keller from the French Laundry restaurant (a place I really hope I have the chance to eat at before I die) has never eaten his signature oyster and pearls dish.

Who says ya gotta try everything you cook, especially when you have other people under you to do all that for ya! Worked for me and Thomas :o)
