I HAVE A ......

Propostion for you. Get along and see The Proposition. Yes that was lame I know, but it's how Pete broached the topic when he called yesterday to see if I wanted to go along :o)

Written by Nick Cave, soundtrack by Nick Cave and directed by John Hillcoat.

Pete, my bro Justin and myself caught it last night down at the Luna cinemas in Leederville. An amazing film, not an American western just dumped in the Aussie outback, this is a true Aussie film with a western theme, gritty, violent, gentle and visually stunning. The outback becomes a character in the film.

John Hillcoat was at last nights screening and he did a Q & A after the film, which was actually very interesting. Even if some of the questions were a bit hmmmm!! Filming a movie in 57C heat has a multitude of problems associated with it, so it was cool to hear how they dealt with it. How they didn't use Nick in the film because as one audience member asked "Did you consciously avoid having Nick in the film so as not to repeat the Jon Bon Jovi cameo in Young Guns 2 travesty?" :o)

A $20 million budget, no American stars, save for Danny Huston, who is the son of the legendary western director John Huston, who actually grew up in Ireland, so that doesn't really count!!

I suggest you "get yo ass" down to a cinema soon and catch this one.
