IN LIMBO

The task of getting home from where I work is a time consuming chore, a rewarding one but a chore nonetheless.
.
First up there is a 3 hour drive along dirt tracks, often riddled with corrugations. It really rattles the fillings in your teeth at times.
.
Then I arrive in Newman, get to the company HQ and wash the vehicle down to remove all of the mud and dirt.
.
After that there is often a period of nothingness, which I am experiencing as I write this, where I have to wait until the bus is ready to leave to drop us at the airport.
.
Check in and then begin another hour of nothingness waiting to board the plane.
.
Finally we're airborne for an hour and a half flight.
.
Land and proceed to the luggage belt for a 10 - 20 minute wait, grab my luggage and start the trek to the long term parking area.
.
Big thanks to the airport management for building these parking spots soooooo far from the terminal.
.
Pack the car and drive home, this is the shortest journey of them all, 15 minutes and I'm in my place.
.
All up I leave the camp at around 2pm and arrive home at 9 or 9.30 pm.
.
I only have 4 hours to go :)
.
Edit: It seems I forgot to allow for the good old "flight delayed" scenario, just found out that instead of leaving Newman at 6.50pm the plane wont arrive here until 8pm. We should then be departing by 8.30pm. Pending it actually arriving ahahahaha sigh.
.
Stay tuned for the next disruption.
.
ETA for home is now 11pm.
.
Edit Edit: Yep 11pm :(

Funny how the plane is always delayed when you're going home, never when you're going to work.

Tis the season for planes to be delayed now.

hahaha yep so true.

best news is that there are extra flights for xmas so apart from extra opportunities for delays we also get home earlier (if no delay) aaarggghhh now I'm nervous
