I've just dragged my hungover carcass home from the Rufus Wainwright gig at the concert hall. Now that was a concert like no other concert I have EVER seen. Ha! It was great.

This guy has seriously the most beautiful voice that I have ever heard emanate from a man. Yes he does. I didn't take a camera along to this gig, my movies are usually crap and I doubt I could have held a camera steady tonight anyway. So youtube is providing the goods.

The song belonw was one of those he sang tonight, in this version Jake Gyllenhaal does the voiced portion, we had a local guy who won a youtube competition or something. I actually think our guy did a better job, at least he did it from memory, Jake used notes.

This was also the first concert that I've been to where the singer wore lederhosen in the second act, or any act for that matter.
Also the first concert I have been to where the singer started the encore in a bathrobe, then sat down and clipped on some diamond earrings, changed into a suit top/dress with heels and stockings and did a Judy Garland number complete with suited male dancers. Ahahahaha brilliant.
Oh and this is his version of Across the Universe that he released around a year ago. Worth a listen and an amazing clip. Yes it is, watch it now.
In conclusion Rufus is most awesome.
