IN THE MOOD FOR THE KING

I just heard an Elvis song on the radio, soooooooo time for some Elvis :)
.
HA! I never thought I'd ever say that, but these are pretty cool clips and I can see why people loved the guy. When I was a little kid (as opposed to the big kid that I am now) I used to spend my Saturday afternoons watching the usual movie double - a Jerry Lewis, Dean Martin movie followed by an Elvis one - good times. Oh and with the occasional Francis the Talking Mule thrown in for good measure.
.
I just remembered the Elvis Sandwich recipe
.
Ingredients:
.
2 tablespoons butter, softened
8 slices white bread
1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
1 large, ripe banana, sliced
1/4 cup honey
12 slices bacon, sauteed until crispy
.
Preparation: Spread the butter on 1 side of each slice of bread. On the other side of half of the slices spread peanut butter. Place banana slices on top of peanut butter. Drizzle honey over bananas. Place 3 bacon slices on top of the banana, then place the remaining buttered bread slices on top, butter-side-out. Place sandwiches on a preheated grill pan or griddle. Flip them over when they become golden brown and crispy. When the sandwiches are browned on both sides, remove to plates. Slice in half and serve immediately.

Hey pallie Stu, wonderin' if you ever heard this story....once in speakin' of our Dino, the Elvis said, "I may be the King of Rock and Roll, but you are the King of Cool." Elvis is cool, but Dino is cooler. Never was, never will be anyone as cool as the King of Cool..oh to return to the days when Dino walked the earth.
