THE PITS

I think I've mentioned somewhere in here that I've bought a house, if I haven't well then guess what? I've bought a house, yeah cool awesome. Only it needs a hell of a lot of work done to it before I can move in and my architects think that should be by next christmas....if I'm lucky. So I've been thinking of aspects I want built into the design and passing them onto the architects where they've been telingl me that it wont fit into my paltry budget. At least I get to dream a bit. My latest greatest idea is to install a conversation pit.

Yeah, pretty rad huh? Well not so much if you lived in the 50's or 60's, back then it was the height of coolness, very chic, very modern. So I'm thinking it's time they were brought back into style, besides I've had my fondue set and fake bear rug in storage for far too long. They need a real home.

So I've kinda settled on a square or a round design, with either leather of cloth trim. Actually the one that I think is the coolest so far is this one....

.... I'm not sure that I have that much room, maybe a scaled down model. Meh it doesn't matter as they'll just tell me I can't afford it, fingers crossed they don't though.

What do you think? Pits, cool or not cool? Too porn?

The last pit looks cool... but it doesn't look super comf.

I vote for the 2nd pit (with the dog) or the red pit!!

Big no to the 5th one (with crystals dropping down!!)

good voting

only that's a bear (polar I think) not a dog, poor thing's been skinned and used as a rug :(

I tell myself it's fake

My boyfriend's parents have a conversation pit at their house, with a couch just like the one in the top picture. They're definitely cool, but can be hazardous after a few wines.

I was thinkig of a sunken bar with fridge in the middle so you wouldn't have to leave the pit very much ;)
