CASPER? THAT YOU?

So last night I head to bed. I turn off all the lights upstairs and there's a few to turn off. Each switch has around 4-6 small lights connected to it. So when they all go off it's pretty dark. Stupidly I had failed to leave a light on down stairs so I had to use the light from my phone to get down the stairs safely. No problem, sleep awaits and after a busy day I was keen to get me some.

Imagine how I felt after 2 hours of solid sleep only to wake up and notice my once dark house is now half lit up! WTF? I slipped out of bed and slowly walked down the passage, no noises upstairs and besides I was half asleep so being stealth like quiet was pretty much not working for me, so if there was anyone up there they'd know I was coming. I started climbing the stairs and peeked up onto the upstairs bit. Nup nobody there, I walked down to the big glass doors at the end of the room and yep, locked tight. Only one explanation for it, it was my ghost again.

Let's make one thing clear here, I am an educated person who simply finds no place in the world for ghosts. They simply don't exist okay? Got it? Right, cept I may have one. As you can imagine, this is very confusing for me. Also you should know that this is not the first time this has happened, more like the 9th or 10th. I've woken to turned on lights a couple of times now. During summer, I would turn my overhead fans on low to move the aircon around only to come back upstairs and find them on high speed, once whilst I was standing right under the bloody thing, that's not right huh? I've gone away on 2 week work trips only to come back to find lights on. I know for a fact I checked the house thoroughly before I left to make sure all doors and windows were locked and that all lights were off and yet.....

Maybe it's because I live in a converted church hall, a large space, old halls attract ghosts right? No they don't cos ghosts don't exist right? Surely if they did exist, just for arguments sake, then the converted church next door would be the logical spot for a haunting wouldn't it? I mean there must have been a bundle of funerals inside that place over the past century or so. None of that sort of thing went on in this hall. At the most it hosted a bunch of Scout meetings, Country Women's Association bake off competitions, church bingo nights, maybe a cat show and the odd nativity play at Christmas. No need for the spirits of the un-dead to hang out in here is there? Turning my lights on, changing the speed of my over head fans, really? Dear ghost who doesn't exist, at least do something useful like wash my dity clothes and mop the upstairs floorboards occasionally. That said, the upside to all of this and the reason I don't feel very threatened by this ghost who doesn't actually exist, is that if you have to be haunted by one then having one that's afraid of the dark aint that bad eh?

You so have a live-in ghost! At least you are not creeped out by it. Get a dog to stay overnight, they are a good judge of such situations :)

ahhh yeah that's a good idea, people are suggesting setting up a video cam but a dog is waaaay easier lol

An old church would have at LEAST one ghost.
A lonely old alcoholic clergyman who lost his faith...
A shamed nun...
A baby who died before they were baptised...
Getting into heaven is no piece of cake, and those restless spirits have got to hang out somewhere.

I'm cool with that, but that should be happening next door in the old church. The hall which I'm in should be ghost free :)

Happy to report nothing odd happened last night, but then again, they do happen months apart
