One of the highlights of my trip to New York was the availability of food vans along the streets, whether a hot dog vendor or a cupcake van, New York has em all. Even the hotel we stayed in celebrated their 2nd birthday by having a food van arrive at the front door and supply guests with free food. One van each arrived for entrée, then main and then dessert (see pic below). How awesome is that?
Australia is finally starting to catch up. I know they're happening in other states but Perth has (as usual) been a bit lagging in all things portable food. Good news today on the City of Perth Facebook page....
“The Council is revising mobile food and beverage vendor operations in the city. Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi says the Council is keen to encourage more activity in under-utilised spaces, such as laneways outside normal trading hours.”
