The Empire Commonwealth Games are back. A good time to reflect on when we hosted it back in 1962. Little old Perth got a bit of a makeover as a result. Wide streets (Underwood Ave) new housing for an athletes village that was then sold off as a suburb (Floreat - I'm exaggerating here but you get my drift) and brand new sporting venues - Perry Lakes, Beatty Park and all the rest...
