VIETNAM WAR HELMET GRAFFITI

I came across a pic of an old Smiths album I used to own (LP style - who knows where it is now) called Meat Is Murder. And I started to wonder if that was actual helmet graffiti from the Vietnam War or a shopped photo.


Google says it's shopped but my search brought up a pile more examples of the real thing. I find this stuff really interesting, not war so much cos war is insane, but how people react when thrust into one and how the images and themes from them become part of pop culture. Helmet graffiti is one of those themes...
