GASCOZARK - THEN AND NOW

We spotted this building on Route 66 in Gascozark, Missouri. I had no idea what it was but snapped a pic because it looked cool and quirky and that's what we were after on this trip. I did some research and it's the Gascozark Cafe and Gas Station, built in 1931 it was converted into the Spinning Wheel Tavern in the 1950's, then became a private residence before eventually being abandoned. Not sure if it's used today, but it underwent a clean up/fix up a year or so ago (see video)

Then
Abandoned
The Gascozark Cafe
Now
a fairly long video of the clean up repair job done a few years ago, but the first 60 or so seconds give you a good idea of how it looked when it was overgrown and collapsing
