McSORLEY'S OLD ALE HOUSE

 At the top of my list of places I wish I'd visited during my three visits to New York (so far) is McSorleys Old Ale House. Why? Because look at these photos, the place has hardly changed in 100 plus years. 

I'm seriously hoping that it isn't a place that only attracts tourists (like me) and that I can just slip in, grab a table and drink a few beers

Sad to see that the most recent owner of the bar, Matthew "Matty" Maher, passed away last week. Maybe a tipple in his honour if I ever do make it there, if covid ever pisses off that is.

Also just read that women weren't allowed into the bar until 1970... wow! Glad they caught up with the rest of us. Hopefully see you soon McSorleys.
