I was tidying up some old hard drives a few weeks back and I spotted this pic that I snapped back in June 2016. I was just walking by, it was a quick snap with my phone, but I love how it turned out. The colours, the shadow, the stepped stacks of cups, the dog looking lazily at me, the guy waiting quietly and restfully for his coffee order...
I posted it on my mastodon account and someone remarked that it reminded them of an Edward Hopper painting. Which is extremely generous of them, but I do get what they mean. The slight bluriness of my shot caused by my walking gives it the feel of a painting. Then the muted colours and the subjects all waiting quietly in Hoppers art. I see the similarity, a nice coincidence I think.
