I spent some more time cruising the New York Public Libraries Digital Collection. Last time I focused on Karnak in Egypt and staying with an Egyptian theme, I scoured late19th and early 20th century views of the Giza Pyramids. A time before the city of Cairo reached their doorstep.
I was lucky enough to visit the Pyramids back in 2010, and all the colour photos in this post are mine, I'm not doing comparrison pics this time round, because as I mentioned above, Cairo has expanded since the the late 1800s and you simply cannot replicate these views now.
