I've just gotten in from the scattering of Bruces ashes. It was held on the Swan River at Blackwall Reach near Point Walter. Fiona emptied his urn from their yacht the Lochen.
Bruce had 3 loves, his family, his archaeology and his sailing. It couldn't have been more perfect. Moments before the scattering commenced 2 dolphins appeared near the boats, then a few minutes after the ashes were scattered, 3 kookaburras flew up and took their positions on a branch on the shore and gave Bruce a send off - bush salute - an almost orchestral occasion. Dolphins representing his love of the water and kookaburras representing his love of the bush and thus archaeology.
Perfect really.
